About This Project

A New Religion reimagines foundational biblical stories through a lens of Black empowerment and representation. This series challenges traditional iconography by placing Black figures in pivotal roles, reclaiming narratives that have historically excluded them. By casting myself and other Black individuals as Adam, Eve, and even God, I seek to create a visual mythology that reflects the beauty, strength, and divinity inherent in the Black experience. This is not merely a retelling, but a radical act of visual re-appropriation, constructing a new sacred space where Black bodies are centered and celebrated.
