Ask Me Anything
Ask Me Anything is an interactive performance art piece where Jabouloni Thompson, dressed in simple robes, and sits at a table on a busy city sidewalk in New York City with a handmade cardboard sign with the text “Ask Me Anything” inviting passersby to engage in conversation while offering advice and prayer in character as Black Jesus. This performance aims to create spontaneous connections and foster open dialogue in the midst of everyday urban life. By placing Thompson in a familiar public space and presenting a simple question, the piece encourages reflection on the nature of human interaction and the power of shared vulnerability in a “post race” America.
